THE PLAN
"An effective community improvement plan is one that will create an environment conducive to positive social behavior by providing for community based commerce to meet the community's consumer and employment needs.
Following is The Kinte Center’s comprehensive and well researched Community based Community Economic Development Plan to economically revitalize the flatlands of the area in East Oakland bordered by 55th Avenue east to the Oakland-San Leandro border (Our targeted area). It will bring economic improvement to the flatlands of our targeted area and provide jobs and job training for 850 unemployed area youth and create 2800 new jobs in order to reduce our targeted area’s unemployment rate to the national level or better while improving and expanding community based job producing retail.
